The First Qingdao ISAF Race Management Seminar

Chinese Yachting Association will host an ISAF Race Management Seminar in Qingdao International Marine Club(QIMC) from 30th May to 1st June.

This is the first time that this seminar is hosted in China. At that time, there will be lots of attendees coming to QIMC from all over the world.

According to the requirements of ISAF, IRO seminar is held by International Sailing Federation, applied by sailing associations of its different member countries and finally undertaken by different sailing clubs.

In order to keep the high level of this seminar, ISAF appoints the instructors directly as well as requires that at most 25 attendees in each seminar. At the end of it, all attendees will take the unified test. Only those who can get more than 80 marks can achieve the Certificate of International Race Officer (IRO) from International Sailing Federation.

After the seminar, a big sailing event will be held for seminar practicing. This time, QIMC will arrange a design keel boats fleet racing regatta, “Qingdao City Club Regatta” (1st to 3rd June), for attendees to practice.

Chinese Yachting Association and QIMC tried their best to strive for this opportunity. The approval of Race Management Seminar by ISAF represents Chinese sailing activity is going to the international arena as well as we can keep in touch with the world–sailing activities closely. Otherwise, the successful host of this seminar enhances the reputation of Qingdao and QIMC. This also shows the confidence of Chinese Yachting Association to Qingdao International Sailing Club. The confidence and support of Chinese Yachting Association will be very helpful for QIMC to develop into the best sailing club in China.

Qingdao International Marine Club substantially supports this Seminar, no matter from materials to manpower. They will provide suitable training sites and advanced training facilities. Mr. Qu, Vice Secretary-General of Chinese Yachting Association and Manager of Qingdao International Marine Club will also be the local consultant to help the appointed instructor by ISAF to finish this seminar successfully.
